Madeleine in a Cube

Madeleines are of course baked in shell shaped molds but baking them in cubes made from parchment paper is fun too. To do this, you would have to learn to make a simple cube with a 7 square inch parchment paper origami. Then fill each one a little more than half full with a basic madeleine batter.
Bake them in a 350 degree oven for at least 12 minutes. Then let cool before serving.
Here's one I'll open for you.

Enjoy!

  2. Zen-like and unusual shape for a madeleine, beautiful to see, it is like modern art or very ancient, you are always original dear Arthur. So, i am going to learn how to make origami cubes! I remember something similar you did some time ago in a rectangular shape but open on top, did you? Ciao!

  19. This is so amazing! You gathered two of my favorite things: baking and origami. I'll try to make the cubes. I'd love to try these! Thanks for sharing your amazing artful creativity. That makes me think that there are so many other origami shapes that could be used for baking... very clever!

  20. Guess what? I've made these too but made the cube boxes into rabbits instead, so my madeleines were in rabbits! They were meant to be posted at Easter, but I never got round to the write-up. You see, great minds do think alike ;-).
